Tips & Tricks

Small shortcuts that make channels easier to find, help you revisit missed programs, and narrow down connection problems.

Add or remove Favorite channels

  1. Highlight a channel in Live TV.
  2. Press and hold OK on the remote.
  3. Repeat to remove it from Favorites.

A short Favorites list makes large channel guides much faster to navigate.

Find channels with Playback

Playback availableLook for this circled arrow beside a channel.

  1. Highlight a channel showing the Playback icon.
  2. Press to open that channel’s guide.
  3. Move backward in the guide and select an available program.

Playback availability and history vary by channel.

Use the guide to go back

  1. Highlight a Live TV channel with the Playback icon.
  2. Press on the remote to open its guide.
  3. Move backward through the guide and choose an available program.

Missed a show or game? Check the guide before searching elsewhere.

Multi-View for sports

Open Live+ Ultra when multiple games or events are happening at once. Its split-screen and multi-view options are especially useful on busy sports days.

If a channel is not working

Try another app before assuming the device or internet connection has failed.

Apps may use different channel sources or listings.

Can’t find a movie or show?

Search Heat VOD first. If the title is unavailable or difficult to locate, try VOD Ultra; the two apps may organize or expose content differently.

Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi when possible

When the box is reasonably close to the router, 5 GHz Wi-Fi can provide more bandwidth. If it is farther away or behind several walls, 2.4 GHz may provide better range.

Use Ethernet to test buffering

  1. Temporarily connect the box directly to the router.
  2. Test the same channel or stream again.
  3. If it improves, Wi-Fi may be contributing.

Buffering can have several causes; this is a useful troubleshooting test, not a guarantee.

Use voice search

Where supported, use the remote’s voice search or Google Assistant function instead of typing with the on-screen keyboard.

Backlit remote

The V6 Plus remote is backlit, making the controls easier to find in a dark room.

One remote, when supported

Turn On HDMI-CEC

HDMI-CEC lets compatible TVs and the VSeeBox communicate through HDMI. Depending on the TV, power and basic controls may work together so you can reach for fewer remotes.

Menu wording can vary by V6 Plus firmware and television.

  1. 1

    Open Settings on the VSeeBox.

  2. 2

Open Device Preferences, Device Settings, or the equivalent system menu.

  3. 3

Find HDMI CEC or CEC and turn it on.

  4. 4

Enable HDMI-CEC in the television’s settings too.
